About Me

I initially found an interest in art as a child, and have always loved capturing a moment on canvas. The process of starting with a blank canvas and transforming it into art is meaningful, and I particularly enjoy painting people. I paint oil portraits using oil on linen canvas, create monochrome portraits with charcoal on paper, and also create portraits using a combination of charcoal and pastel.

I am originally from Virginia, and currently reside in Statesville, North Carolina. My husband Steve and I have a son named Thomas.

I am a member of the Portrait Society of America, where I was a scholarship recipient in 2009. Previously, I was a Regional Arts Project Grant recipient from the North Carolina Arts and Science Council.
